Antique Victorian Hand lettered bow fronted mahogany corner cabinet Advertising
Gorgeous bow fronted 2 door mahogany corner cabinet, estimated from the early Victorian period. The cabinet has a beautiful rich brown patina and is decorated with advertising of the period. The cabinet advertises delights like'Fresh Clotted Cream,''Potted Meats and Relish' and Poultry and Game - Fresh and Hung'. The lettering has been added later.
The doors open and close freely and one door has a fastener inside. Inside the cabinet are three useful shelves which offer good storage and all of the interior has been painted green and is heavily distressed. The cabinet has scratches dents and blistering to the veneer in places particularly around the bottom of the cabinet and the edges. Some losses to the beading at the top and the door edging.
The door has a lock which look which doesn't work and there's no key. Please look at the photographs to fully appreciate the charm and the condition of the piece. The cabinet measures 105cm in height and is approximately 50cm on each side and about 80cm across the front of the cabinet. This piece would make a great addition to any characterful home, pub, bar, restaurant or den.
