1 Important Fine British Decorative Art Oil Painting Portrait Anne Bowes-Lyon By Harry Clifford Pilsbury. Circa early 20th century dated 1936. Set in original ornate traditional gilt frame. Signed by the known British artist Harry Clifford Pilsbury. Subject half length front portrait view of Anne Bowes-Lyon who became Viscountess Anson and H. Princess Anne of Denmark (formerly Anne Anson, Viscountess Anson, née Anne Ferelith Fenella Bowes-Lyon; 4 December 1917 - 26 September 1980) was a first cousin of Elizabeth II and the mother of royal photographer Patrick Anson, 5th Earl of Lichfield and Lady Elizabeth Shakerley. She became a Princess of Denmark through her second marriage. Having such incredible detail with such close brushstroke control, the fur coats seem so real. He did a number of important society portraits in a late 19th and early 20th centuries. Pilsbury also painted many of the leading figures in the Leicester area.
